Sam has competed in a variety of sports over the past 15 years and over this time has had his fair share of injuries so he knows what you're going through!

Sam started by playing football for a local football team before tearing his quadricep muscle at the age of 14. (which ultimately enlightened him to this Profession)

Since then Sam has been running, focusing mainly on 1500m and 800m on the track.

He has competed for Essex in both Athletics and Cross Country Events such as the National Cross Country Championships, English Schools Cross Country Championships, Inter County Championships, South of England Championships and County Champs.

Sam is currently playing Saturday League Football and part-time Running for Grange Farm which competes in the Essex and Mid Essex cross country leagues . If you would like to follow Sam on his road back to fitness you can follow his Strava Account linked on the right (desktop view) or catch up with him at the Chelmsford Park Run on a Saturday morning.

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and Government guidelines the Clinic has been CLOSED until further notice (15th March 2019).

We are still OPEN virtually; offering assessments over the phone/ video call for any injuries you currently have. Lots of people are turning to running and other forms of exercise as a way of release, keeping on top of any pains and injuries is vitally important.

We’ve still got a duty of care to keep nonurgent injuries away from the NHS if possible, during this unprecedented time.

Please give Sam a call on 07587054854 or fill out the form on the Contact Page.

Do I have to be a sports person to book Sam?

A Sports Therapist initially works with a patient immediately after injury using first aid and trauma management. Following this stage, a Sports Therapist will provide an assessment, treat the injured area and rehabilitate the athlete until they are back to fully functional fitness.

Sam's aim is to improve the quality of life for all his patients and provide a safe return to sport as quickly as possible. Sam’s patients include those competing at an elite level through to recreational athletes in a wide variety of sports.

Regardless of age or ability, Sam has the experience to treat anyone and commonly he treats people with office-based injuries, the elderly and even patients who have had an unforeseen mishap nothing to do with sport!

What happens post treatment?

A patient's treatment session doesn't finish when they walk out the door. At Chelmsford Sports Injury Clinic we will design specific, individualised exercise and stretching based programmes for patents to work on between sessions to help speed up the recovery process and return patients to the sport they love even faster and stronger than before!
